Boys Volleyball 
Location: JCP Gym
July 3, 5 - 7 10am - 12pm 

I, Coach Hu, truly enjoy coaching volleyball and have put in a ton of hours into the boys and girls programs at Jones over the last 8 years. I currently coach boys and girls varsity. I would love nothing more than to be able to teach and inspire high schoolers how to play the game and earn time on the court. These camps do not guarantee that you or your child will make the team or have playing time. Everything is earned. If you want an opportunity to receive instruction, work on the fundamentals, and essentially do drills that I have used at the JV and varsity levels in order to earn a spot on the team or earn playing time, this is a great opportunity for you.

Things that we can work on include strength and conditioning for your legs and jumping, serving, serve receiving, ball control, hitting, blocking, and volleyball IQ. What we do exactly may depend on who and how many people sign up, but it'll be specifically tailored to the audience that signs up and I will try to provide feedback in such a way that will allow players to think and give themselves feedback or pointers to carry with them beyond the camp.

From my end if you appreciate what I do and appreciate the help of our assistant coaches, please consider signing up for as many camps as possible. I am hoping to raise money to pay for assistant coaches during the season. The camp fee will go towards paying for coaches that work the camp as well as paying for assistant coaches during the actual volleyball season.

Coach Bio:
I have been coaching at Jones for 8-9 years now or 14-15 total seasons between boys and girls. With the girls, we won the JV city championship in 2015, 2016, and 2018, JV runner ups in 2017 and 2021, varsity city championship in 2017, and varsity runner ups in 2016, 2018, and 2021. With the boys, we won the JV city championship in 2019, varsity city championship in 2019, and varsity runner ups in 2021. I played 4 years at Lincoln Park High School as an outside hitter, 1 year of club at Powerhouse (before it became Chicago Elite) as an outside hitter, and 4 years of club at Case Western Reserve University as a setter.
